How DealScout handles your data

The short version. We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We keep what we need to run your account and your searches, and the list below shows exactly what that is and who helps us do it.
What we keep
- Your sign-in. Your email and a password. Sign-in is handled by Supabase, so your password is stored scrambled and we cannot read it.
- Your account details. Your plan, how many searches you have used, your invite code, and the savings total if you choose to log what you saved.
- Kept in your own browser, not on our servers. Your shopping list and the last location you entered. Clearing your browser data removes them.
- If you try DealScout without an account. A random ID is kept in your browser, and your network address is checked briefly in memory so one person cannot run unlimited free trials. We do not save that address in our database.
What leaves DealScout when you search
- The thing you typed and the place you entered go to an AI service (Claude, made by Anthropic) so it can look up results.
- If you type a ZIP code, it goes to a ZIP lookup service to find the city.
- Flight searches go to Travelpayouts for prices and booking links.
- Results for a search are kept for about 6 hours so the same search comes back faster. They are saved by what was searched and where, not by who searched.
Who helps us run the site
- Supabase: accounts and our database.
- Anthropic: the AI that builds your results.
- Stripe: paid plans. Your card goes to Stripe, not to us, and we never see or store the number.
- Resend: sends sign-in and password emails.
- Travelpayouts: flight prices and booking links. If you book through one of our links, they may pay us a small commission. It does not change your price.
- Render: hosts the site.
- The U.S. FDA: the source of the food recall notices. Nothing about you is sent to them.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data or share your email with stores.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not take money to put a store higher in your results.
Your choices
- You can log out at any time from the menu in the app.
- You can cancel a paid plan at any time from Manage plan in the same menu.
- To delete your account or ask what we keep about you, email derailleurapps@gmail.com.
